Don't Hyphenate Just One Word

Bright Spark

Some help needed again, thanks. Word 2003

Our documents have the automatic hyphenation feature turned on all the
time, but occasionally there will be a proper noun that falls at the
end of the line and it will get hyphenated - someone's name, for
instance. We have tried turning off the automatic hyphenation for
just that one word, and then turning it back on again, but of course
as soon as it gets turned back on it applies to the whole document and
the word we are trying to keep together gets split up.

Is there some way to force certain words to be kept together and never
hyphenated?

Again, many thanks in advance.

Hi Bright Spark,

Select the word, then in Tools > Language > Set language..., check the box
to not check spelling and grammar.
Though it doesn't say so explicitly, that'll also keep the hyphenation
algorithm from looking at the word.

Hah!!! Oh, for goodness sake - I never would have thought of going
there!

Thank you, Klaus.
