Disappointed in Seattle

I have always been an ARDENT supporter of MS since the early '80's, but I
must say I'm having a harder time each passing day. I've already switched to
google two or three years ago because it worked better, and I ditched
Microsoft's horrible MSN web service because it was the most cumbersome piece
of crap and I could never get help. Recently I switched my browser recently
to Firefox because of glitches and I and I now find myself wondering why I'm
stuck with all of these Office products which require me to carry CD's around
all of the time? I have a corporate laptop and we have people all over
calling because their computers are now wreaking havoc and they can't
download the solutions.

MICROSOFT YOU NEED TO DO THE FOLLOWING:
1) Go study why the heck Lotus 1-2-3 went into the toilet. (Do you remember
the fancy anti copying scheme they used, and oh yeah the charges for support?
Bill made a killing simply because he DIDN'T try to squeeze every last
dollar, and they unofficially allowed people to bootleg their software
knowing full well that it would get them using their software at home and
they would then demand that they have it legally at work. Why did Bill so
quickly forget his roots????

2) Don't make us sign up for .NET accounts and sign our lives away simply to
write these comments. I am NOT in any way one of those anti big brother
kooks, but I must say that I'm beginning to see there reasoning when it comes
to Microsoft....

Signed a guy who has ALWAYS stood up for Microsoft, IN THE PAST....

You can already do this with out carrying your CD's around:

1.. After clicking "Agree and Install" select "No" to the question "Do you
have access to your products CD?"
2.. If it still asks for your disc during installation select "Cancel" and
navigate back to
http://office.microsoft.com/officeupdate/maincatalog.aspx?lc=en-us; let it
scan for updates again.
3.. Write down the KB number of all the updates listed.
4.. Navigate to
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/officeupdate/default.aspx.
5.. On this page use the search tool to search for the KB numbers.
6.. Download and install the corresponding updates. If there is a choice
of which file to download be sure to download the one with "fullfile" in the
file name.
