Don't view costs of the resources

Hi to everybody,

I’m working on the 2007 infrastructure (MS Project Professional, MS
Project Server, MS PWA, MOSS), and I have to customize some views.

Basically I would like to avoid that some users can see the cost of
the resources.
On PWA, I can create custom views that don’t show the information, but
if I have the permission to pen the project on project Professional, I
can see the cost of the task of the project and the cost of the
resources...
I have set up the permission that the production manager can allocate
the resources (and that can be done only on MS Project Professional)
but I would like that he cannot views the costs...
Is possible?? And if yes, in which way??

Thank you so much

It is not possible to hide the resource costs if you have access to the
resources to allocate them within Project Professional. Even if you could
hide it, the rate could easily be reverse engineered by assigning them to a
1 hour task and looking at the task cost.

I understand your frustration, sorry I could not help.

No, this is not possible to hide resource rates from project managers who
have permissions to open projects in Project Professional 2007. This is why
we do not recommend using actual pay rates for resources in the Enterprise
Resource Pool. Doing so can cause both morale issues and privacy problems
with your HR department. Instead, we recommend that you use a "blended"
rate for resources across all resources in departments, business units, or
even the entire company. This way, no one can see actual pay rates. Just a
thought. Hope this helps.
