Don't want owner to get invites

In Outlook 2002 secretary creates new appointment for the boss but doesn't
want him to get an invite, just to be able to see it on his calendar. I know
about "Don't send meeting to this attendee" on the scheduling tab but would
like it to default to "Don't send". Any ideas?

Add the secretary as a "delegate" so she can directly open the bosses
calendar and make changes to it directly. Of course not all bosses will
like that, but it's the most effective.
