Double-Click files won't open

Whenever I double-click on an Excel file, Excel will
launch but the file will not appear. From reading some of
the past posts, I've check to see if the "Ignore other
Applications" box is unchecked, and it is.

I've tried typing at the Run command,
Excel.exe /regserver and although Office did it function
and after clicking OK, the problem still exist.

I'm using a Windows XP SP 1, and Office XP.

What else can I do to remedy this problem?

Try a search in hidden files for Excel.xlb and temporarily rename it. See
if Excel will start, if it does you have a corrupt toolbar customisation
file and excel will create a new one and the old can be deleted. You will
have lost any toolbar customisations though

Thanks Nick;

I've deleted the Excel10.xlb file and Excel regenerated the toolbars,
however, it did not solve my problem.

I can double-click to open files until I do the following steps. I can
regenerate the problem by performing these steps.
1. While working in Excel, I export my file to Access.
2. I create a report in Access.
3. From Access, I print to create a PDF file.
4. I send an email using Outlook and attach the PDF.
5. I go back to open another Excel file and double-click on it...not any
Excel file will open. Every time I complete those same steps. I have to
restart the computer.

Appreciate any help.

Look under Tools>Addins and see if Adobe is putting any add ins in Excel.
You can uncheck them all and see if that fixes the problem. If it doesn't
go to Tools>options>general and check that 'ignore other applications' is
unchecked
