Double clicking on Excel workbooks slow

J

Jambo

Hi,

This is a strange one. If I double click on a saved Excel 2003 workbook, it
takes ages to open. If I open Excel then select the workbook, it loads
immediately.

Has anyone any ideas on this one?

I too have come across a similiar scenario. Also using excel 2003, on winXP
pro. I did a repair install, on office, with no effect. And as mentioned If I
open excel first and then the file it loads up fine, but if I double click on
the file before loading the program I end up waiting awhile.

This is an Excel forum for Macintosh. If you need help with Excel 2003 in
Windows, I suggest you try one of the Windows Excel forums.

Hello -

Before anyone can begin to give an accurate response to a question of this
nature there is much more info you need to provide:)

What version of Excel are you using? The the *file* version & the header of
your post suggests that you are using a Windows version. This is the Mac
Excel group (microsoft.public.*mac*.office.excel) and although there are
some here who may be able to help, you'll get faster response in one of the
PC Excel groups. Start on the following page if that's the case:

http://www.microsoft.com/office/community/en-us/FlyoutOverview.mspx

If you are using a Mac we need to know what exact version of Excel, what
specific version of OS X, and a little bit about your Mac, as well as an
indication of what type of content is in the file (macros, graphics, etc.).
