Double files generated in VIEWDROP folder

I've noticed that every time a project is published, 2 XML files are written
to the VIEWDROP folder. The contents ofeach file is identical. There are
no messages in the event log reporting a problem.

any idea on the cause or how to change this?

This is normal for MSPS 2003. The views processing service will only process
the file once. These two files are created from the save and from the
publish.
