Double-loaded Outlook window??

These days, when I open Outlook 2007, I first get a window which includes the
word 'loading ...' on it. Then Outlook opens again properly - over the top
of that first page. The first, half-opened, page remains behind the
properly-opened one I subsequently use. I wish I could get rid of the first
one, which momentarily appears when I click around in the proper window!
