Double messages

I just installed Office 2004 for Mac on my G4 Powerbook running 10.3.4 and
my Entourage duplicates all received messages...That is, there are two of
them...identical. Any suggestions?

Be sure to upgrade to 10.3.5.

Several things can be causing this problem.

Your ISP could be going through a temp problem.It would seem that if Entourage
is not recognizing that you have downloaded the message it would continue to
download every time you connect.

Run the new Database Utility to verify your database. It might not hurt to
rebuild your database since you have just transferred to 2004.

Check your setting to see if you have selected ³leave messages on server².

In the mean time you need to get rid of the duplicates. Download this script
and run on your folders.

I'm having the same exact problem. Rebuilding the database didn't
solve it. The same exact settings worked fine with Entourage X, but
not any more with 2004.

In Edit Account > Options > Server options I have:

partially retrieve messages over 5kb [checked]
leave a copy on the server [checked]
delete messages after 1 day [checked]
delete messages after they have been deleted from this computer
[checked]

No matter if the message is partially downloaded or fully downloaded,
after local deletion it will remain on the server and will be
re-downloaded the next time I check mail.

Unchecking "leave a copy on the server" or "delete messages after 1
day" doesn't make any difference.

I have sent Microsoft a support request and will post the response.

In the meantime if somebody has another idea...

I know someone that solved it only by creating a new database. I know royal
pain....
