Double posts?

Does anyone of you know why all my posts appear double, about 5 minutes
apart?

Please let me assure you, I pressed the submit button once only,
guaranteed! BTW, this happens at home and at work, so I assume it has
something to do with the programming of the submit button or my forum
preferences maybe?

You're using some sort of peculiar access to the newsgroup called
"www.talkaboutnetwork.com". They must be sending it twice. They seem to have
a very odd way of getting to the newsgroup, so there are problems missed
conformation signals enroute, triggering a resend.

I suggest you post your news messages directly to the news server by using
Entourage or another newsreader. In Entourage click on the Microsoft News
Server in the Folder list. Enter "mac.office" in the little text filter
window in the upper right corner. Select
microsoft.public.mac.office.powerpoint and whichever others you want in the
list, then click Subscribe button. Now go to this newsgroup, which will
appear in the Folder List just under the MS News Server, click New or Reply
to Newsgroup, and post your message. You'll see it, once only, in about 2
minutes if you refresh the newsgroup (cmd-L) or go away and come back.

If you really prefer a web browser go to the Google web access at
<http://www.microsoft.com/mac/community/community.aspx?pid=newsgroups>

PLEASE always state which version of Microsoft Office you are using -
**2004**, X or 2001. It's often impossible to answer your questions
otherwise.

Hi Paul, thanks for that. As I dont have a MS News Server item in my
folder list in Entourage, I looked around on MacTopia and found this
address:
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.mac.office.powerpoint, but
it gives me an error (I am behind a corporate firewall), "address not
found".

I guess I'll stick with Google then.
