Double quotation marks in Access field

If I use the double quotation marks in an Access text box and then merge
that to a mailmerge document, it does not print properly. For example, if
the text box has - He said "Baby don't go.", it appears as - He said "\Baby
don't go.\".

Is there any way of fixing this apart from the obvious use of a single
quotation as in 'Baby don't go.'.

I don't think so. There is an option in Word Tools|Options|Compatibility|
called 'Treat \" as "" in Mail merge data sources', but
a. that seems to be the wrong way round for the problem you mention
b. I've never got it to work even trying to use it for the stated purpose

NB, if you do try it, bear in mind that the compatibility options are set
for the current document - they do not affect every document Word opens.
