When I archive outlook from xp office 2003 it creates 2 archive folders
appearing in the navigation pane under personal folders. Mostly similar but
slightly different. When the laptop was set up it included folders and
settings under "user" and folders under "my name." (my real name) I dislike
the redundant one taking up valuable real estate in that pane. Why is it
doing this? I have tried to set everything to point to the settings under
"my name" and not "user" Thanks for any help friend!

If your Archive settings point to a particular Archive file, and you have no
need for the other, close it.
However your admin may have set up OL in aparticular way, and you may not be
able, if so speak to them

If you mean right click and choose Close Archive Folders, I do that and it
repeatedly comes back when I Archive, along with the one I'd keep. In other
words, if I close them both, then both come back. At times I have had 3
archive folders show in the navigation pane at the conclusion of archiving.
This is a home laptop so I am the Admin. by default, and according to the
user's profile in Control Panel. Thanks ever so much. Maybe you have more to
add and if so I thank you in advance.
