Doug Steele Object Documentor error 7874

Andreas

I get an error 7874 which says that Access can't find repport1 - which
doesn't exist. As I am just getting started using ms-access (2002) I
would rather not fool around to much with the data. So I'm wondering
if anybody found an easy solution to the problem?

Hi Andreas,

I recall that thread, but the poster never responded back to my questions
so I'm not sure if the issue was ever resolved.

Duane's advice could be correct and I had not considered that before.
Check that first.

In a nutshell what the add-in does is this:
1. First check to see if the Documentor report exists in the database.
2. If it exists, just open it.
3. If it does not exist, then the add-in creates the report completely
in code and then saves the report. Under normal circumstances it
will initially save the report as Report1 (it could be something else
though too).
4. Then the report is renamed to rptObjectDocumentor.
5. Finally, the report is opened on screen.

So if no printer is defined that could explain the error.

Something you might try is my new all-in-one CSD Tools add-in
that documents several areas of your databases. Among the
various options is an object list. Although essentially it looks
the same as the add-in I made for Doug, it is different under
the hood. No reports are ever created in the existing database.
The information is gathered and then pre-made reports are
opened to display the relevant information. If you run the
object list report from my new add-in and receive the same
error message than most likely it is the printer issue Duane
mentioned.

You can find the free add-in here:

Can you open other reports in this database and/or create
new ones?
