downgrade

Hi. I installed office 2003 and it really messed things up. It interferes
with our chat program. I did a system restore and now am having problems
with my office 2000. I cannot open word any longer and every time I check my
email it comes up with an install notice. I cannot use mail merge at either.
I need to get this fixed. I tried to reinstall office 2000 and it says
verify source or something like that when it goes to install. Does anyone
have any ideas on how I can fix this and just get my office 2000 working
properly again.

It appears to me that the Windows Installer may have been messed up when you did
a system restore. Suggest you downloaded the Windows Installer clean up utility
and then reinstall Office.
See for details on how to do this -
You receive the "This patch package could not be opened" error message in an
Office program

You'll need to have your Office 2000 CD and Product key etc.

Hi thanks for your response. Unfortunately, I tried that and am getting the
same result. Any other ideas.

Not at this stage, perhaps maybe someone else might have a suggestion.
