Hi all,
I've configured my mail client (Ms Outlook 2000) to access my
exchange account.
Now my problem is the client leaves all the messages at server with
out downloading it to client machine.
Is there any way to download the whole messages to client
machine,(also it must be available offline-mode) &
Server has to be cleaned as all messages downloaded to the client.

summary: 1) The client program has to be Ms Outlook.
2) Mailbox on the has to cleaned after downloading it to client
machine. (Any possiblities to view downloaded mail offline)

Thanks in advance
Ivar

You are using MAPI to view your messages?
Then the messages are supposed to stay on the server in case you move
to another machine and want to see your mail, or you give others
access to view messages, or you give others access to your mailbox.

If you want the mail to be removed from the exchange server then use
Outlook to connect to the server via POP3 which will, by default, pull
the mail and remove the server side copy.

It's a bit of a waste of Exchange server unless you're doing something
else with it though.

Yes, that's the way it's supposed to work.

What does server "cleaned" mean? Why not just connect and use an OST file to
sync to for offline use?

Why do you need the items removed from your mailbox, if you don't mind my
asking? Why use Exchange if you don't want to keep your stuff on the server
for centralized admin, backup, ease of access?
