Download Contacts from Pocket PC to Outlook 2007

Have Windows 7 (W7) operating system. ActiveSync would not load on W7. W7
suggested using Windows Live.
I have recently installed Office 2007 (O7). O7 wants to use ActiveSync to
connect Business Contact Manager (BCM) to Pocket PC.
Is there a solution to use something in Windows Live to connect the Pocket
PC to O7 so I can copy my contacts to Outlook Contacts and then syncronize
them.

The equivalent of ActiveSync for Windows Vista and Windows 7 is Windows
Mobile Device Manager. You can download it here;

Glad to see this post. I just installed Office 2010 Beta on my Windows
7 laptop. Then I installed WMDC and plugged in my pda to start syncing
but when the screen opened to select what I wanted to sync, none of the
Office areas (mail, contacts, calendar) could be selected and each had
words to the effect "outlook is not installed on this computer." Trying
to imagine what the problem might be, it occurred to me that perhaps
under Windows 7, Outlook had to actually be open and running so I tried
that, tried closing everything, restarting the computer etc but nothing
I came up with would, for lack of a better term, tell my computer that
Outlook is installed. Everything in the Office package works fine so
there's no question Office is in fact, installed on my system.

Is there something different about the setup on 2010 or might this just
be a feature not yet fully operational in the beta?

It's the other way around; WMDC needs to be updated before it can (fully)
support Outlook 2010. It's the case with quite a few add-ins.

If you intend to use Office 2010 right now with other add-ins, make sure you
are using the 32-bit version of the BETA and not the 64-bit version. Using
the 64-bit version will guarantee add-ins not to work since they will need
to be modified and recompiled as 64-bit add-ins. Using the 32-bit version of
Office 2010 will still not be a guarantee that your add-ins will work
though. Contact the add-in developer to find out their compatibility with
Office 2010.
