download counter - update frequency?

I see that the download counters get updated at different intervals of time!
Sometimes, they get updated in a day, sometimes 2-3 days.. sometimes no
update even after 4 days...!

What is the expected pattern?

You would have to ask the folks at Microsoft but I wouldn't really expect a
