download gmail inbox messages

i have my gmail account and i am using it in outlook 2003
now i want that all the messages in my gmail inbox,sent items should be
download in my out look now.
note that i am recieving and sending my messages but cnat recieve old ones
so let me know how can i do that

Go to Settings in gmail, click on Forwarding and Pop and select POP for "all
mail".

While what Castell said will apply to your gmail Inbox, it can't apply to
the gmail "Sent Mail" folder if you're using a POP account to access gmail.
POP protocols have no ability to access folders. Only what's in the Inbox
on the server is available for download.

GMail now has an IMAP option......

Yep, but I don't classify that as "downloading". While I realized, strictly
speaking, that the data does get downloaded, since the PST is just a cache
of the data on the IMAP server, in my mind it doesn't count, any more than
an OST counts as downoading from an Exchange maibox when using Cached
Exchange mode.

I agree, but at least the OP would be able to "see" folders other than the
Inbox....

because of the way gmail works, sent messages will be downloaded with pop
(and put in the inbox). But to download old messages, you need to redo the
profile after setting the gmail options to download them.
