had '97 then upgraded to 2003). I went on ms download page and when I try
to download SP1 for Office 2003 I just get beeps; when I try to download

Check in Add/Remove Programs in
the Windows control panel to see
if there is a listing for MS Office 2000 disc 2
or other 2000 series apps.

Hi Detobias,

CD #2 included MS Publisher 2000, uninstall if you
no longer need that version.

I stopped the 'remove' function because it seemed to just hang there and when
I tried to open an access file at the same time (which should be access2003
but says 2000) it did not seem to be there....I have upgraded to 2003 prof
office many mnths/yrs ago but especially when trying to do graphs in Power
point and from excel to pp, it keeps saying 200 disk 2 CD.....I have 2003!!
help!!

Hi Detobias,

Did you check in Add/Remove programs in the
Windows control panel to see if
there are any 2000 series apps listed?

Office 2000 had more apps on some editions than
Office 2003 does. When there isn't a replacement
version the installer leaves the old one.

If you're having trouble repairing or uninstalling
you may need to use the MS Installer cleanup utility,
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;290301
and review this article on left over Office 2000 CD#2 files

I have Porf Office 2003 listed and I have CD#2 Office 2000 listed. When I
try to remove the latter, it justs hangs at the 'gathering data' and I read
the two suggestions you made and am a little concerned to try either one.
Which would you suggest given the above. If I use your second suggestion of
removing CD#2, will I still have all my 2003 programs? I do have the upgrade
CD for 2003 as I bought it. Thanks....
