Download SP3 for Office XP

I am unable to download SP3 for Office XP. Keep getting message that I need
the original disc for Frontpage. I understand that there are two versions of
SP3, one that does not require discs. Does anyone know which version that is?

That would be the installation package that contains the character string
'fullfile'. You can get it from the Office Downloads page at
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...289-8BD1-EB966BCDFB5E&displaylang=en#filelist

However, it has been my experience through several dozen applications of
Office XP SP3 that even the 'fullfile' package requires the installation
media (even though it should not). In fact, while researching the above
link, I discover that MS has actually acknowledged this condition.

To install SP3 without the original Office XP CD

When installing SP3, you may be prompted to insert one or more of your
original Office XP CD-ROMs. If you do not have access to your original
Office XP CD-ROM you can install Office XP SP3 Full File Version (58925 KB).
Follow the instructions on the screen to complete installation. Note: Some
users will still be prompted for the original CD when using the Office XP
SP3 Full File Version, depending on your installation of Office XP. For more
information, please see the Microsoft Knowledge Base article, (828451)
OFFXP: Why Service Packs, Updates, and Security Patches May Require the
Office XP CD-ROM.

Looking at KB828451, it seems that the most likely cause of this for most
installations will be this scenario:

= You have configured an Office feature to run from the source media when
required, and the service pack, update, or security patch applies to that
feature.

Note When you apply a patch, if a feature is marked as run from source,
Windows Installer copies the file locally to patch it and then the feature
is transitioned from the run-from-source state to the local state.
