Downloaded Office XP 2003 Standard and lost other applications

Helloooo. I just downloaded Office XP 2003 Standard. Now I find that I no
longer have, at first look, Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and
who knows what else.

Looking around the various forums it looks like I made a big mistake or
Microsoft did. I bought Microsoft Windows XP Professional and Microsoft
Office Professional with the Dell laptop I am using. Therefore, my
downloading the entire Microsoft Office XP Standard may have deleted all my
other applications? I cannot find them on my computer, at any rate. When
I tried to email I got an error message saying that Word was not found and
could not be used as the editor for Outlook. That is what first alerted me to
this situation. I do not recall seeing ANYTHING in the download instructions
warning about this and am baffled.

If the applications are all gone, as I fear, do I delete whatever was
downloaded and reinstall my older office and all applications from my
original discs? Then would I have to update every application since they
are all at least two years old and many updates have come down over the years.

Hope someone has a good answer.

Thanks, George
