I have been trying to installing Power Point Viewer for weeks. I
get Power Point Viewer downloaded but when I try to save iton my computer I
get a message that one already exists. So I go to Control Panel and
Add/Remove
and remove any Power Point Viewer that is already there ---down load it again
but I still get a message that one already exists but when I go to Control
Panel
and Add/ Remove but I cannot not find any program like PP to remove . Still
can't save the Point Power Wiewer that I have down loaded So I am
stymied---sure would appreciate if you can solve this problem.

Try this Roy

Search your computer for "ppviewer.exe" when (if) you find it double click it.

To clarify Steve and my answers for you - ppviewer.exe IS the installer file
you need.

Thanks to both John and Steve
I have Microsoft Power Viewer 2003 on my system---but now I have a different
problem. When I get an email with an attachment and I try to open it I get a
message "This file does not have a program associated wit it for performing
this action. Create an association in the Folder Option control panel". To
get around that situation I right click on the file attached and click on
"open", "open with" and in the Open With window I click on "Power Point
Viewer" and the file opens with the data, pictures, etc. That is a rather
messy way to have to do this. The files attached have an pps file type while
the PPViewer has an ppt file type. I do not know how to correct this
situation. I have tried to look in the Folder Option for one of the files
attached with out sucess----quit over my head to be truthful. I need your
help-------Roy Super

Have downloaded ppviewer, done most everythinghere, but no luck. Asks for
my product key and when entered still does not work. What gives?

That's what I thought, but the thing still keeps asking for it. I do not
understand. Any more knowledge? Will try to download again anyway. Tks!

I have never heard of the Viewer asking for a product key it is a free product. When you click on the download link, select run instead of save, and see if that makes a difference.

Tks to both of us. There was a free trial version. Have uninstalled it as
well as the ones I have downloaded from the internet. Makes no sense to me.
When box appears asking for Product Key, I close it but it also takes the
email with it too. This is driving me crazy. Just don't understand. I have
saved as well as run the viewer program numerous times. (Uninstalled also.)
It's like the thing has possession of my computer. I could lol if it were
not so maddening. All I want is to be able to view pp shows in the email.
Go figure.

OK, from the sounds of it, there is some component of the office trial that
did not uninstall with the rest.

What are the file association for the PPS file extension? To check this,
right click on the file and select properties. Click on the Change button
in the Opens with section. What program is listed? The viewer or
PowerPoint?
