downloaded presentations aren't working properly

Processor: Intel

hello after downloading the recent update last week I realized that when downloading presentations using safari it downloads with the .pps format and so opens in a slide show directly, while when I use firefox it downloads normally .ppt!!!!!
what is wrong?!
