Downloading a Live Meeting webcast :(

Hello there,

In the last months Microsot USA Webcast stream all the webcasts using
Live Meeting software that, as far i know, is part of Office pack...
that why i post here...

In the early months the webcast were made with the Interwise software
and i can download the session. Now, i can´t download the session with
Live Meeting. I search a lot in FAQ and other site.. but nothing.

Can be do the download with Live Meeting? And, if it can be done...
How?

Hey Charley--

MS has a lot of webcasts, from different sites but in general from the
Events site they are still using Interwise and transitioning to Live
Meeting. It is easy to get the Live Meeting software to view the webcasts,
but there are some tips that MS should give you that they don't and I have
suggested that they do (FWIW). The Live Meeting software free for viewing
the webcasts, first of all. is the same technology and software but not the
same as buying the service for web conferencing tailored to businesses and
enterprises. http://main.placeware.com/

There are a *couple tips* that will help you successfully download what you
need--the 5.59MB download that shows up in Add/Remove.

1) You may have to *turn off your firewall during the short time you install
only,* because when you try to download it I'm not sure whether it's the
port used or not.
2) I was told that to get it installed you need to set cache at least to
100MB but I've set it back to 20MB on a cable connection and Live Meeting
works fine for viewing the webinars or webcasts.
3) Allow a couple minutes before the webcast to allow it to set up.
