After connecting Gmail's imap to Entourage I didn't get all my folders downloaded. The All Mail and Starred folders were not included. I deleted theaccount and tried setting it up again, but that didn't work. Any suggestions? Thanks!
In your left mail pane click the top level GMAIL account. In the right
pane you should see all your Gmail folders listed. If the down arrow
under [Gmail] isn't open click that. You should see All Mail and it is
probably grayed out. Double click it and it should add this to your
folder list.
I purposely leave this out of Entourage for downloading for a couple
of reasons. When you double click this it will now download all your
mail in all mail. If you have other folders or labels in Gmail and
that mail is in those it is now in two places in Entourage and your DB
will increase in size. Let's say you've got a read mail folder or in
your sent mail you decide to delete a message in either of these
folders,it will purge but if you go to your all mail folder the item
is still there. Possibly that is what you want but in my case I don't
want this to remain in Entourage. I can still find the item if I look
in Gmail and I really don't care how many e-mails are stored on Gmail
server. In fact, this mail is in Mac Mail and a spotlight search will
find the item for me and again, due to the way in which Mac Mail
works, I don't care how many messages are in it.
Food for thought!
