Downloading Mail from ISP Not Working

I am running Outlook 2002 SP3 on Windows XP Home Edition SP2. My ISP is
comcast. I have set up my installation of outlook to send/receive every 5
minutes but nothing happens. If I pick send/receive from the standard tool
bar I get a pop up saying "The Operation Failed". However, if I go to Tools

Send/Recieve then select an email account it works fine. Yet Tools >

Send/Receive > All Accounts does nothing.

I have uninstalled / installed several times with no change. I have also
rummaged around in the MS Knowledge Base but can't seem to find anything
that addresses this. I suspect there is something in the registry askew but
am not sure where to look. Any insights here?

Thanks Diane, this fixed my problem too - see "0x800CCC0F receiving email
error 7/21/05". Out of interest, what does the .SRS file do?

find and delete the *.srs for your profile.

it stands for "send receive settings" and holds the information in tools,
send/receive, send/receive settings. Outlook creates a new file using the
defaults when you delete it.

One thing that can damage the .srs file is a too frequent polling interval.
The recommended interval is no less than 10 minutes, longer if polling
several accounts at the same time.

Okay, I'm having the same problem, and I'd like to try this fix, but uhm,
maybe I'm just an idiot. I cannot find the *.srs file. Where would it be
located? I've tried running a search and it's not located on my computer.

Rodney,
It is a hidden file. In explorer on the tools menu Folder options view set
explorer to show hidden files. Then you can do a search Good Luck. I did
this and it did not help me but it does seem to have helped others.

Okay, I'm having the same problem, and I'd like to try this fix, but
uhm, maybe I'm just an idiot. I cannot find the *.srs file. Where
would it be located?
%AppData%\Microsoft\Outlook

I've tried running a search and it's not located on my computer.

Enable searching hidden files and folders.

Thank you guys. I found the folder and deleted that particular file, but it
didnt help me. Anyone have any other suggestions????

I am having the same problem. I have Microsoft Outlook word 2003. I send
emails but can't receive them. I have tried seveal ways going by the help Q&A
but to no avail. I'm about to kick this PC back into Best Buy.

And exactly what were those "several ways"? Did you follow the advice from
the message you quoted? Have you tried recerating your account? Have you
tried a new mail profile? Have you enabled diagnostic logging?
