Downloading or reinstalling onto new computer with XP

Trying to reinstall Word Perfect 11, everything is
downloaded except the Word Perfect (document program).
when I hit the Work Perfect Icon, the startup screen
appears for a moment and then disappears. After much
disgust, I purchased Microsoft Office XP for students and
teachers. The download seemed to go fine until I tried
to install the third and final disk, (Microsoft Office XP
Step by Step Interactive Training). It also refuses to
install.
The Error received on both of these attempts was: "run a
DDL as a APP"
Please Help! I'm trying to get this computer up an going
for my daughter in college who has been without it for a
week and is hurting. THANKS, JIM

If you keep call installing a program from a
CD "downloading" then you will confuse the very ones
trying to help you.

I'm sorry you were so easily confused and I'm sorry I even
asked. You figured out that I was trying to install from
the CD but didn't have THE answer.
If anyone else figured out that I am really trying
to "LOAD" Office XP or Word Perfect their disks then maybe
there is a REAL answer out there.
