Downloading pdf files

When I download a pdf file from an email, then open or save it, it goes to
Office Picture Manager and is presented as a "page with a dog-ear in the
upper right corner." Why? I cannot view the file. How can I see the file
that was sent to me? I have many "pictures" like this and have not been able
to view them. Running Vista 64 bit and Office 2007.

What application do you have to view pdf files with?

Adobe Reader?

Foxit?
