downloading PPT templates from Microsoft

D

Dan

when I click on get "More themes from Microsoft Online" I am taken directly
to the page; but told I don't have PPT 2007 installed in my computer or I
need the newest DirectX. I DO have 2007 installed (as a single piece - I
also have the 2003 suite); and I have upded the DirectX and the downloads
still don't work. Any thoughts?

Along the same line, every time I start PPT 2007 my computer tries to
install PPT 2003 - and this is really a time-consuming process to make it
stop - I usually have the best luck with task manager and "end program" -
but there's gotta be a better way.

Thanks.

Hi, Dan.
I don't have an answer, but I have some questions. Have you activated PPT
2007? If not, you probably need to do that. And, which product was
installed first on your computer? I know this may sound like a silly
question, but if you recently purchased a new computer with Office 2007
already installed, and then installed Office 2003, it could be that some
registry settings were changed and MS doesn't recognize that you have PPT
2007.

Hi, Dan. Here is a website that might be helpful regarding having two
versions of Office on your computer http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928091.

It says that you should install the earliest version first, and then the
later version.
But it goes into a lot more detail, about the registry, etc.
