downloading template for PowerPoint

How can I use an online template on an existing presentation? When I
download it creates a new file and I don't see that download in the list of
available designs for the existing presentation. Thanks!

Just download, and when the new presentation opens, choose File | Save As.
In the "save as type" dropdown in that dialog box, choose Template *.POT.
That will take you to the folder where templates are saved. Save it, and
then it should show up in the design templates pane. You might have to click
Browse at the bottom of the pane and find it and apply it a couple of times
before it shows up regularly.

I don't know why the PPT downloads don't work as we expect. Some do, but
many don't.
