dpi for line ?

I plan to submit a paper. The author instruction
stipulates "a minimum of 1000dpi for line art".

How can I ensure this in Word?
How can I produce or create an graph(just line art) to
meet this constraint in Microsoft Word?
Thank you in advance!

Chin-Yang,

Well, it sounds as though your instructor/professor want's
to ensure that whenever you insert a picture into your
documents that good-quality is maintained. 1000dpi is
really quite high for line-art, but hey, if that's what
they want you may as well provide.

Now, how do you ensure that you maintain 1000dpi? I would
suggest using a good third party graphics editor that
gives you capability of setting the dpi (e.g., photoshop,
photopaint). Using an application such as this enables you
to set the dpi before inserting it into Word. Remember, if
it was inserted with less the 1000dpi before you inserted
it into Word, there is nothing you can do to add dots
later, so you must do it before hand.

Chin-Yang,

You must start with a picture that has at least 1000dpi.
You can achieve this by scanning a good quality photo
yourself, or checking the properties of an existing image.
