I have several users on our network sharing and making
changes to one very large Excel file. Most people have no
problems with it but on a few desktops, the file loads but
almost immediately thereafter, excel shuts down with an
error message : Excel.exe has performed an invalid
operation (or whatever the new lingo is for an old gpf)
and says a log file has been created.
The log file says that an access violation has occurred.
At first I thought it was one particular user's desktop so
I reinstalled Office, downloaded the most current Excel
service pack, then re-imaged his machine, which didn't fix
the problem, either. Then, I attempted to open the file
on my desktop and got the same error message - this time
when I was closing the file rather than right after it
opened.
Does anybody have any ideas? Your input will be greatly
appreciated.
Thanks,
Tricia
