Drag & Drop from Access to another application

I have an Music Database application written in Access97, written with
lots of VBA code (and Windows APIs).

I've been asked to drag an item from a Subform (Datasheet View) to an
external application. The source would be the Filepath & Filename ...
that would be dropped onto another running application (much like
Windows Explorer would allow).

Is this possible? I've seen quite a bit regarding drag & drop within
an Access form, and a little bit regarding using Access as the
destination for Drag & Drop -- but absolutely nothing regarding Access
as the source for Drag & Drop.
