DRAG & DROP GRAPHIC INTO WORD - COMPUTER REBOOTED!

Can anyone suggest a reason why this would happen?

M$ Word just caused me lots of heart-ache.

Using Word 2000 (9.0.3821 SR-1)

I had a bunch of .TIF files from a received fax. I opened Word,
dragged one of the graphic files onto Word and dropped... and my
computer instantly rebooted!

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Note to self: SHUT EVERYTHING ELSE DOWN before using Word from now on.
Never know what kind of crap can happen.
