Dragging a shape onto another shape auto connects.. HOW DO I TURNOFF?

Hi guys,
I'm using 2007. Im trying to stack a couple of shapes on top of
eachother but every time i drag a shape on top of the other it
connects and spaces them automatically..
I've turned AutoConnect off but it doesn't make a difference!
