Dragging and Resizing Images in Compatibility Mode

Processor: Intel

I recently updated to 2008 and have been getting used to some of the new features, one of the new feature I was enjoying was the new live dragging of images, that is I can drag the image around the page, or resize it and the text will re-wrap as I hold down the mouse - so the effect can instantly be seen.

Up until today, the documents I have been using were old 2004 document, that I was using in compatibility mode, but I decided I should update one of my working document to a docx file - now the live dragging feature has gone - I'm very confused, any ideas!?

Also, on a related note, the document I converted has several images with square wrapping sitting against the left margin - with text wrapping to the right of the image - all these images, in the new format how have a space of around 1.5cm on the right - despite them having only a small space before (and the Distance from text value showing 0.32cm)

Just to check what was happening I copied a small peice of text with an image into a new blank document - got a big margin and no live dragging - I then copied the same text and image into another blank document and saved it in 2004 format - the margin disappeared and the image can now be lived dragged!!!

Help!!!

Many thanks

Ben.
