Dragging box causes addition of zillions of blank pages

P

Peter Davies

In some of my word documents, attempting to drag a text box
(even if empty) either causes Word to crash or the sudden
addition of hundreds of blank pages. It turns out I am not
alone in this problem as a colleague in another state
reports the same problem as he tries to prepare a document
to send to me.
Does Microsoft have a patch for this problem?

Hi Peter,

This is an indication that the basic file structure is
damaged. Can't say I've heard of dragging a text box doing
what you describe all too often, but it's certainly a
symptom.

Do these documents perhaps come from a common template?

If you copy the text from such a document - WITHOUT the last
paragraph mark - to a new document can you drag the text box?
