Dragging graph-points to change data? (!)

R

rememberkindness

?:

Who knows:

a) how soon either Excel or PowerPoint might allow changes to data by
directly re-forming the data's graph(chart)
(e.g. by mouse-dragging edges, bar-ends, or other such elements),

or

b) whether there is an add-on (or auxiliary app) already available (or that
someone is working on) to enable such data-altering in those two main apps,

or

c) someone who might like to help make &/or sell such an add-on for one or
more such popular apps

?

Thanks!

& do pls. fwd this to all you think might be able to help us out...

Excel lets you change individual chart points by selecting point and moving
it to new location. Source data is then changed to new X, Y position.

You can already do this in XL!

Click a point to select the entire plotted series. Pause. Click the point
again. Now, click and drag up or down. If the plotted point corresponds to
a number in a cell, that number will be changed. If it is a formula, XL
will show a Goal Seek dialog so that the actual source can be changed
appropriately.

That technique is used as a part of
Read X and Y value of any point on a chart

and

the goal seek part is documented in
