Draw a box in Word

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger)
Processor: Power PC

I don't want to use a Text Box. I have some text already on the page and formatted the way I want it. How do I draw a simple box around it and then choose the size/type of line like I can in Word on my PC?

The best option is just the same as in PC Word - Format> Borders & Shading
to apply a paragraph border. Better yet, include the bordering as part of a
custom paragraph style.

Drawn shapes around text are extremely difficult to control.
