Line graphics I inserted into Word 2003 document "disappear" when I scroll
the graphic off the page. Click on "reveal" button and the reappear. Scroll
again and they disappear. I have check the Tools/Options/View settings per
MS knowledgebase -- appear correct. Any help?

I'm not familiar with the "reveal" button. Where do you find that?

Generally, I'd guess this is a graphics driver question. Although I have seen
what you describe with LINKED graphics, they always show up again after a
fraction of a second (when I've stopped scrolling). It seems Word releases the
memory required for displaying (linked) graphics when they move off the screen.
Sort of a trade-off between scrolling speed and display.

But you might try updating your graphics card driver. And perhaps slow down the
hardware accelaration.

Cindy M --

Thanks for the insight. The problem WAS with the driver, but the only way
to fix the problem was to download the driver from the manufacturer (Intel in
my case). The latest driver on the Windows web site didn't help .. in fact
it was the driver that was not working. Go figure.

Makes perfect sense, actually. If you have problems with a driver, you should
always contact/check with the manufacturer of the graphics card...

Just one other note. After I got the driver problem fixed, the object box
did show, but the contents of the object would not display. I found that the
"picture placeholders" box was checked in the setup options. Unchecked that
and everything is back to "normal". Thanks.
