Drawing Canvas in Word

Help!

I know there is a way to turn off the drawing canvas in word (2003) but for
some reason I cannot find it in my options to disable it.

Dose anyone how to turn off the draw canvas? It is such a nuisance when I
want to add a shape or line onto my document.

Tools, Options, General tab, uncheck Automatically create drawing canvas when
inserting autoshapes. (The last option)
