Drawing Display Problems

Ryan

I am using Visio 2002 - Professional with SP1 on a
Windows 2000 PC and between two uses of my PC (i.e.
logging off and back on) my drawings are no longer
displayed correctly. The lines and shapes in all the
files I open look very grainy. My drawings do not use any
special fonts or user defined objects. Note: All the text
is in Arial. Some other posts indicated potential issues
with display or printer drivers, but none of those
settings have recently changed on my PC. Any thoughts
would be appreciated.

Hello,

Try the following:

1. Start your computer in the safe mode (By pressing F8 key at the system boot time and selecting SAFE MODE) - open
the drawing and verify the status. If it is ok, then mostly the problem is related to the Video driver.

2. If the same kind of error behaviour noticed in step-1, try this: Open Visio - select TOOLS -> OPTIONS -> VIEW and
remove the tick marks fro SMOOTH DRAWING & HIGHER QUALITY SHAPE DISPLAY; then make sure the GREEK
TEXT UNDER to have 4 points - Click OK- close and reopen visio and verify the status.

Please let me know the results.

Jagadeesh Parameswaran,

Thanks for the ideas. Unfortunately Visio was already
configured as you recommended. I have decided to just
reinstall the program to see if that helps.
