Drawing frame?

When trying to insert a text box a drawing frame is coming up. I cannot seem
to delete this frame and it is affecting the use of other functions, for
example, placing arrows and other boxes. If anyone has managed to either
delete this function or understands how to use it I would be very grateful if
you could let me know.

From the Tools menu, select Options and then go to the General tab and
uncheck the box against "Automatically create a drawing canvas when
inserting AutoShapes.
