Drawing grid defaults

Shep

I recently altered the drawing grid spacing in Word 2003 so I could align a
series of lines the way I wanted, and, intending to reset the grid after I
finished, clicked the "default" button. Instead, I apparently set the new
spacing as the default spacing, and can't find a reset option. I know the
default is 0.13" by 0.13", rounded from .125, but each time I set it to .125
or .13 it still seems to move by more than 1/8 of an inch and will not line
up evenly with the ruler markings. Did it never line up, and I just never
noticed, or is there some way to get it back to exactly 1/8 of an inch?

Thanks

From the Tools menu, select Options and then go to the General tab and
change the unit of measure to Points. There are 72 points in an inch so if
you set the spacing to 9 points, the spacing of the grid lines will be
exactly .125". Reset the default and then change the units of measure back
to inches if you want.
