Drawing my own objects in Word

D

David Thielen

Hi;

We presently store our data tags in an AUTOTEXTLST field. However, that has
some limitations we don't like. What would be the easiest way to have some
kind of owner draw object that we place where each tag goes? We could then
draw text, a bitmap, whatever where each of our tags goes.

Our requirements are:
1. It must run on Word 2000/2002/2003/2007
2. We can set the size of the rectangle and draw what we want.
3. When the user double clicks on it, we get that event somehow.
4. We can put up a tooltip when the mouse pauses on it.
5. If possible, if the user does a select that includes our object and then
a copy/cut we can provide the text for our part of the select.

What is the best way to do this? The objects can be part of our AddIn or can
be totally seperate. But life is easier if they are part of our AddIn.
