drawing objects in a graph

R

Roslind

I when I add a straight line (from the drawing tool) to a
chart, it only appears when I click off the chart. When I
select the chart, then it appears. This is a problem
because sometimes I need to select the chart to copy it to
a word document. What can I do so that my drawing object
appears when I have the chart selected?

Thanks.

Select the object, then SHIFT+select the chart, then right-click and
select Grouping > Group

Alternatively, select the chart, then draw the straight line. This way
the line will be part of the chartobject right away.

Though, the best option might be as described in the links referenced
by Frank.

If you select the chart before clicking on the drawing button, the
object you draw will become part of the chart. If the chart is not
selected, it will merely float in the drawing layer with the chart, but
it will not be part of the chart.
