drawing tool

Hello.
I'm needing to use the line drawing tool in Word X, and since I want
the squiggly line, I have to go to the menu and then slide over and
select it.

Is there any way to keep from having to do this selecting process each
time I draw a line?

Thanks in advance.

Maggie -

I was about to tell you to double-click or click holding the option key
because that works in some other programs. Then I tested it ...nope.

What you might try is setting up a keyboard shortcut for DrawInsertScribble.
Then you will not have to mouse around each time. Depending on your
typing/mouse habits, of course, that could be either more or less trouble
than what you are doing now.

Best,

- Bill

Hi Maggie-

If you need to use the tool on a regular basis, why not just add it to
the Drawing Toolbar (or any toolbars you choose)?

To COPY the button: When you open up the AutoShapes menu, move your
pointer to the shape button, hold down Option+Cmd and drag the button
to another toolbar.

To MOVE the Button: Same as above, but just hold the Cmd key.

I believe these techniques work in Word X, but haven't tried them
recently. If not, check out HELP on custom toolbars for details.

Or you can go to View>Toolbars>Customize Menus/Toolbars and on the
Commands page locate the button an drag it to as many bars as you wish.
Good Luck|:>)
