Drawing toolbar button remains pressed

I am following the online tutorial of Visio 2003 (installed on Windows
2000). I clicked a drawing button on the Drawing toolbar and drew a
few shapes and lines. I can't unpress the drawing button on the
toolbar. The last drawing button remains pressed. I have to close the
toolbar, then turn it on again to have none of the buttons pressed.
There must a way to simply unpress the button. Right?

just select the pointer tool (this is the "normal" mode of operation).

Hi,
you have to click another drawing button - you can't "unclick". Choose the
pointing button(white arrow), which is the "normal" function".
