Drawing Toolbar

When I am using WordMac 2008, neither Insert>Pictures>Autoshapes nor
View>Toolbars>Drawing is available. The little rainbow circle just goes round
and round (the longest I have waited is about 20 minutes). Any suggestions?
Thank you

First of all make sure you have fully updated Office (12.1.1) and OS X - you
haven't given any specific info, but Tiger should be at 10.4.11, Leopard at
10.5.4 - an repair disk permissions after any updates.

See if logging in as a different user makes any difference. If not, the
first thing to try is in View> Customize Toolbars & Menus - Toolbars page.
Select the name of the Menu Bar then click the Reset button.

For future reference, please don't *Reply* to outdated messages - the one
you tacked onto goes back to April. If the suggestions in that thread didn't
solve your problem your issue must be different in some way. It's better to
start a new thread giving all system particulars & details on the matter :)

I have the same problem. I have OSX 10.5.4 and MS Office Mac latest update.

I tried View->Customise Toolbars and Reset on the Drawing toolbar.

When I right mouse on the Toolbar and click to make the Drawing toolbar visible, the spinning beachball occurs and I have to kill Word.

It's been like this for a some months.

I have the same problem. I tried both suggestions of the resetting the toolbar and checking the template.

Any other ideas?

You need to do the whole procedure Bob sent you to: forget "checking" the
template, just delete it using exactly the method described.

Once you have, then you must also delete the preferences, as described in
the procedure.

Be careful not to cut corners, or it won't work.

Cheers

do have the same problem with most recent leopard and most recent office update. all suggestions did not work. powerpoint just crashes when launching an empty drawing toolbar and klick the arrow.

this is a fatal error since ppt is somewhat useless without drawing.

any idea?

No idea at all. You haven't even told me which version of Word you're
using, so "Sorry, can't help".

Please post your own question, in the correct forum. If you join on to
someone else's matter, we do not get your software versions and we can't
answer.

It sounds as though you might be using PowerPoint? This is the Word forum.
