Driving predecessor

In MSP 2003, where there are multiple predecessors to a task is there an easy
way to determine which is the driving predecessor? (Or which are the driving
predecessors when there's more than one?)

The one(s) with the least Free Slack.

Hope this helps in your world.

Yes, understood. But can you recommend a view or a table that makes this
clear? For instance, I commonly use the predecessors and successors view of
the Task Form. In Primavera I can easily configure a similat layout to show
driving and critical predecessors too, but MSP form layout is fixed. Is
there anywhere that lists the task only predecessors that also shows zero
float (for task/driving and project/critical)?

Hi Steve,

You could create a custom table to show name, predecessor,
successor, as well as free and total slack. All are fields which
can be easily shown in a table. See View > Table > More Tables.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
